I’ve been thinking a lot about these lyrics lately by a favourite hiphop artist of mine, as well as the duality that exists within us all. 

I suppose it is fitting as we enter November and traverse Scorpio’s waters and have an opportunity to make contact with or converse with the more shadowy sides of our nature. 

These lyrics really speak to this radiant fire within us all, that is both a creative and destructive force. In my interpretation, these lyrics speak to the temptation of falling into darkness and being led or into the impulsive, lustful, or animalistic side of our nature. 

Alternatively, it is when our spirit is nurtured that we are more in control over the vessel we call our body. 

Following this line of thinking then, it’s not about destroying the shadow, or getting rid of the darker aspects but pouring into and building up our spirit. Feeding our spirit persistently, devotionally and holding and lighting the darkness with it, as though a good mother or father would. 

I felt this to be relevant insight into working with the energies of the Sun in Scorpio, as the Sun which represents personality, ego and consciousness plunges into the sign of transformation, intimacy, crises, and the subconscious.

When it comes to emotional alchemy, a part of the personality needs to soften or “die off” in order to become larger and integrate something new, from the subconscious. Scorpio Season is a fantastic time to admit what is arising from the shadowy subconscious and humble ourselves enough to converse with, love it and accept it. Often what we describe as ugly or evil within ourselves is usually a part of us that has become enraged by our rejection of it.

Only then, when we recognize we are all of it, the pure light and deepest darkness, can we experience what Jung would describe as “greater psychic wholeness” or what Astrology may call “the soul-infused personality.”

November is an astrologically major one, my friends.

Today we have a New Moon in Scorpio and as we venture further into the month, Pluto will Moves into Aquarius (for the next 20 years!), Saturn goes Direct in Pisces, and Mars moves into bold & fiery Leo. There are a number of other powerful transits including the progression of Sun and Mercury into expansive and philosophical Sagittarius.

November 1st: Scorpio New Moon 

This New Moon trines Saturn in Pisces. There is an air of grounded intensity. In order to seed a new reality that is authentic to who we are, we must clear away what we are not. Today is a good day to commit to a spiritual practice (Saturn in Pisces) that will create the space for you to converse with the hidden aspects of your nature. Journal in candlelight. Meditate to mysterious music. Shed what weighs on you. Alchemize.

November 2nd: Mercury Enters Sagittarius 

Our minds start thinking more expansively again. How can we apply the learnings from Mercury in Scorpio and access new dimensions of thought and feeling? Perhaps we can write or share about it, teach about it even. Maybe our mind is on travel and foreign lands.

November 3rd: Mars Enters Leo 

This is a great transit for Mars as it leaves Cancer (it’s debilitation). Mars is our drive and the way we take action, and Leo is bold, fiery and enthusiastic. In its shadow, Leo can be overly egotistical in nature, so watch out for that and the tendency to be uncompromising. However, you should see greater willpower and zest to achieve your goals. Leo is ruled by the Sun, so align with the heavens and you’ll be thrilled at what can be accomplished.

November 11: Venus Enters Capricorn 

Our values and ways of relating become more serious and practical during this transit. We could be prioritizing saving money, deepening our commitments and investing wisely.

November 12: Saturn Goes Direct In Pisces 

Planet of Karma goes direct in the final sign of the zodiac. A clearer path of purpose may open up that offers greater soulful alignment. There is a sense that certain debts have been paid, and now it’s time to move onwards with our heads held high, hard lessons in tow informing our new choices. We ought to be more surrendered now to any outcomes. We’ve loosened our grip on what we think “should” happen.

November 15: Full Moon In Taurus 

What in our lives prevents us from feeling truly stable? Sure, we can work on our financial savings, and create practical plans to budget and build. And, what is most important is the inner cultivation of security, sourced through our eternal relationship with God. What is in the way of experiencing true stability? What can be done to nurture this? What needs to be released?

November 19: Pluto Moves Into Aquarius

Pluto moves into Aquarius in November for the next twenty years. It is the dawn of a potent new age, for which we’ve already had a taste during its brief journey’s into the early degrees of Aquarius before retrograding into Capricorn. I foresee this being an important phase of humanity’s journey where there is a battle between artificial technologies versus turning inward to develop our God-given technology and integrating our higher body and soul intelligence. With Pluto, truth always wins as it strips things down to their raw essence, while in the process, uncovering the shadow or dark underbelly, which ultimately leads to greater wholeness and humility. This transit will undoubtedly expose technology addiction, the dark agenda of transhumanism and the dangers of group think. Pluto is powerfully helping us shed all that prevents us from living a life in alignment with our higher visions (Aquarius= natural ruler of the 11th house of hopes & wishes). Many communities are coming together and strengthening with a common good in mind. 

November 21: Sun Enters Sagittarius 

Ahh, alas. A breath of fresh air, as Sun enters Jupiter- Ruled Sagittarius. This is a time of spreading thy wings, reaching for the stars and infusing everyone around you with radical optimism. A lucky time for effortless growth, especially operating from a much more “clean slate” as we move out of the cleansing waters of Scorpio.

November 25: Mercury Goes Retrograde in Sagittarius 

Undoubtedly, we will reflect on our personal philosophies, and the lens in which we perceive reality. Many “Aha!” moments, epiphanies, breakthroughs. We may want to dive intensely into a subject of interest to us, that ends up expanding our consciousness in some way.

November 30: New Moon in Sagittarius 

With all of this Sagittarius energy, this moon represents an exciting time to set our sights even higher. A Mantra to work with is, “I allow myself to be surprised by how magical this life can get.”


The Astrology of November 2024 has us rooting deeply into a new era with Pluto in Aquarius. Scorpio season asks us to purge that which is heavy, accept it, and become humble to know that we are both light and dark. We can nurture our Sprit, move forward with boldness and spread our wings, in the true knowledge of how powerful we are. As we merge our will with the divine will, we become conduits and leaders of a new age.
